Arjun Kapoor Maratha Warrior Sadashiv Bhau Invites:
Ashutosh Gowariker who is popular for his magnum opus is back on the box office with yet another of his interesting stories. His upcoming flick ‘Panipat’ is a history which is based on the 3rd Battle of Panipat, which took place on 14th January 1761 at Panipat.
This battle was fought between the northern expeditionary force of the Maratha Empire & invading forces of the King of Afghanistan, Ahmad Shah Abdali, backed by 2 Indian allies-the Rohilla Afghans of the Doab & Shuja-ud-Daula, the Nawab of Awadh.
Recently, filmmakers released the 1st official poster of the film. Arjun Kapoor who will be a part of this project tweeted the 1st look and wrote,
“Come Witness The Battle That Changed History, #Panipat. In Cinemas December 6th.”
Arjun will play Maratha warrior Sadashiv Bhau with Kriti Sanon playing his spouse: Parvati Bai. Sanjay Dutt will play Afghan king Ahmed Shah Abdali, the main opponent to Arjun’s Sadashiv Bhai on the battlefield.
Talking about the film, producer: Sunita Gowarikar said in an official statement,
“Our film Panipat will bring alive the great glory of Marathas and will showcase not just the epic battle in which more than a lakh soldiers were martyred but also the reasons behind the war. It is an epic tale of great historical significance.”
She was joined by Shibasish Sarkar, Group CEO, Reliance Entertainment, who said,
“It is our privilege to associate with such a magnum opus that will showcase one of the biggest ever battles fought in the world. The scale, grandeur and compelling storytelling will make it an unputdownable watch when the film opens in theatres.”
Panipat will be directed by Ashutosh Gowarikar and produced by his spouse: Sunita Gowariker under their home banner AGPPL in association with Rohit Shelatkar’s company – Vision World. The film has a stellar cast that includes names like Sanjay Dutt, Arjun Kapoor, Kriti Sanon, Padmini Kolhapure, Mohnish Bahl & Zeenat Aman in a Special Appearance.
The film will release on the 6th of next month.
