Archana Puran Singh Reveals She’s Paid Half of Navjot Singh Sidhu on The Kapil Sharma Show

When it comes to gender bias, it seems that our TV industry is not far behind the film industry, no matter how sensitive they come out to be towards this issue in the public. Bollywood comedienne, Archana Puran Singh, who was roped in to fill the chair of Navjot Singh Sidhu on The Kapil Sharma Show after the former cricketer made some insensitive comments about Pulwama terror attack that hurt nation’s sentiments, came out with the shocking revelations that her pay package was half that of Sidhu’s.

Her words came out in a comic manner but she had clear intentions that this everlasting gender bias should be addressed. Going in detail, she took an intentional dig at the channel in the episode that was aired last. Below are her words, when she took the channel (with global presence) to task for doing gender bias even when this issue is being addressed globally.

This weekend the cast of Romeo Akbar Walter i.e. John Abraham and Mouni Roy paid a visit to The Kapil Sharma Show. With humor in mind and the fact that Mouni Roy got her fame by playing the role of ‘Naagin’ in Ekta Kapoor’s TV show, he put forward a question to the female actor that what would she want to become if she was given the power of a shape-shifting snake in real life.

Archana Puran Singh Navjot Singh Sidhu The Kapil Sharma Show

Mouni replied that she would like to step into the shoes of iconic British actress Audrey Hepburn and John said he would want to become Kapil Sharma. When Archana was put forward the same question, her reply was that she wanted to be Sidhu as that will mean double the pay package that she gets as of now. Her words came as a shocker as it was thought till date that when it comes to gender bias in the form of pay parity, TV industry does justice.

Meanwhile, Sidhu’s good days are not yet over because Salman Khan who is also show’s producer is keen to see him back on the show and is waiting for the right time i.e. when the public is ready to forgive Sidhu and move on.
