The second installment of the super hit 2010 Tamil film, Enthiran, 2.0 has created quite a buzz since its first look posters were officially released in 2016. Enthiran’s Hindi version was named Robot with Aishwarya Rai and Rajnikanth in the lead roles. It was a big hit all over the country which prompted the makers to take its sequel to a new level. And now, Dr. Vaseegaran and Chitti are coming back. Akshay Kumar, Rajnikanth and Amy Jackson starrer film has been postponed twice for release and now finally is all set to make it to the big screen on 29th November 2018. It will be an Indian science fiction film which is touted to have a production value of about 500 crores. With this humongous budget, it will be the most expensive Indian film to be made.
2.0, just like the first one is also being shot in both the languages, Tamil and Hindi and is being dubbed in 13 different languages. It is written and directed by S. Shankar, popular Tamil director and a producer who also directed the first one, Enthiran. With an amazing star cast roped in, the movie will also have top-notch songs as it’s music composer is none other than the Academy Award winner A. R. Rahman. The makers had hosted a huge audio launch for the fans in Dubai and the two songs that were made public last October were huge hits and received great response.
And recently, the music composer of the film, A.R. Rahman shared some interesting insights from the film, 2.0 on the Rajiv Masand show. He said,
“What’s good about Shankar is this project, he is the right person. Anyone else would have broken by now. He is like an Iron Man held on to it saying “I won’t compromise. I want this quality.” It’s in 3D, I just watched one song. No CG on it…mind blowing. Only this guy can do this. And there is a whole climax scene, which is incredible.”
He definitely feels that the team of the movie is hard working and want the best for the film. He seems to be quite impressed withe how the film has turned out to be and while praising the director, S. Shankar, he revealed a teeny bit about the movie’s climax and how he felt after watching it. And this definitely has the fans going crazier for the film.
Later, he went on to say,
“And for an Indian to think like that we are blessed to have [Shankar]. And, of course, Superstar [Rajinikanth] and Akshay ji.”
Now that the legend himself has said it that the film’s climax is something to look out for, the curiosity for the film’s story and the expectations have increased.
Earlier the movie was supposed to release early in January this year but due to some reason, the release date was shifted yet again for the third time. If anything, it has created a bigger buzz for the movie among the fans. The movie is said to be shot in Delhi and Chennai and has more than eleven thousand visual effects shots. VFX in the movie plays a big role and the movie’s success is dependent on how they are received by the audience and it is being handled by VFX designer Srinivas Rao who has previously worked in Enthiran and the block buster magnum opus, Baahubali. He is very excited to be working with Rajnikanth yet again.
In this multi-crore sci-fi film, we will also get to see Bollywood’s much loved Adil Hussain and Sudhanshu Pandey in prominent roles. And Akshay Kumar will be seen in a negative role for the first time ever. The climax is rumoured to be an action packed long sequence where the two superstars will take on each other head on and now with A.R. Rahman vouching for its perfection, it sure will be an interesting watch for all the Rajnikanth and Bollywood fans who are just eagerly waiting for the film to release.
