Anuskha Sharma Cheers Amitabh Bachchan’s KBC 11 For Bringing To Light The Story of A Sex Trafficking Survivor/Activist

Amitabh Bachchan’s KBC opens its doors for people of all stature, caste, religion, race, and culture. The show has always welcomed with a big heart the specially-abled and it also brings forth stories which sometimes warm the heart & some other times break it.

This season of KBC is a unique one in many ways. Every week there happens something in the show that becomes a piece of news for all good reasons and makes us watch it more and more. This time there came a person on the show who’s story left Big B aka Amitabh Bachchan speechless and all this prompted Bollywood actress: Anushka Sharma to laud the show for bringing her story forward.

In the recently aired episode we saw one such story of a sex trafficking survivor-turned-activist Sunitha Krishnan. While on the show, the Padma Bhushan awardee Sunitha narrated her heart-breaking story of being gang-raped by 8 men when she was just a teenager.

Sunitha shared another story from her life’s timeline, how she once saved a three-year-old, the youngest child, from the racket. After hearing all this, Amitabh Bachchan was left speechless, & Bollywood actress Anushka Sharma couldn’t help but laud Big B, the show and Sunitha for bringing the story forth.

Here’s Anushka’s tweet,

“The incidents and the dirty realities that a crusader like @sunita_krishnan brought to light on the KBC episode are so shocking and hurtful. She has done and is doing such incredible work in rescuing women and young girls as little as 3 years old from sex trafficking,” tweeted Anushka, adding, “We are grateful that people like her exist in this world. And kudos to KBC for highlighting such amazing people on the show. @SrBachchan.”

When the show was to conclude, Sunitha thanked Big B for giving her a platform to voice her concerns & reach out to the neediest, and in the process, also receive help in taking her cause ahead. Sunitha heads a community of women called Prajwala which contributes towards the uplifting of the girl victims.
