Amitabh Bachchan is one amongst the most followed Indian celebs on social media, especially on Twitter. He has about 37.4 million followers on the micro-blogging site and regularly likes to engage with his fans on his Twitter page as well. He is also one of the most active Bollywood celebs on Twitter and it seems now that he’s going to miss his account for a while now. A pro-Pakistan Turkish group has hacked Amitabh Bachchan’s Twitter account and has issued a threatening warning to the whole world. His account has been hacked, reportedly by a pro-Pakistan Turkish group that goes by the name of Ayyildiz Tim.
Just minutes before the clock struck 12 on June 10 night, Big B’s twitter followers were notified that he has changed his profile picture. The picture changed to Pakistani Prime Minister Imran Khan‘s image. The hackers also sent out a warning and threatened the whole world, especially Iceland, saying that they’ll begin a cyber attack.
The tweet by the hackers read,
“This is an important call to the whole world! We do condemn the irrespective behaviors of Iceland republic towards Turkish footballers. We speak softly but carry a big stick and inform you about the big Cyber attack here. As Ayyıldız Tim Turkish Cyber Armny +++”
As per the latest reports, the Bachchans have informed the cyber cell and Maharashtra Cyber about Big B’s Twitter account being hacked. The Mumbai Police PRO confirmed the news saying,
“We have informed our cyber unit and Maharashtra Cyber about hacked Twitter account of @SrBachchan. They are investigating the matter. Further updates awaited.”
This incident is not a new one when it comes to cyber attacks originating from Pakistan. There have been several instances in the past that many government organizations hailing from India have been their victims of cyber terror.
