Amitabh Bachchan has been one of the most successful actors of the Bollywood film industry and has done many blockbuster films. He is also known as the ‘Big B’ of the Bollywood film industry and is truly a legendary actor. Not only films, but the talented senior actor has also appeared in many commercial ads. He has been one of the most active senior actors and you would definitely see him in many ads while watching TV. Age is just a number for this successful actor and his energy level completely proves the fact to all the Bollywood fans.
Well, according to the recent reports, Amitabh Bachchan had recently made his appearance with his daughter Shweta Bachchan Nanda in a commercial ad. The ad was the first on-screen appearance of Amitabh Bachchan’s daughter, Shweta Bachchan Nanda. On her first appearance only, she appeared with his father which was definitely very special for Shweta Bachchan Nanda. However, the ad has been withdrawn now due to certain problems faced by the ad when it went live. The ad had to be withdrawn due to the protest of the bank union.
According to the information, the ad which featured Amitabh Bachchan and his daughter Shweta Bachchan Nanda was putting a false image of the banking system in India. It was being said that this commercial ad was creating distrust in the banking system of the country because of which all the Indian Bank officers warned the brand and told them to remove the ad. They said that if the ad would run, they will sue the brand. The jewellery brand then had to take a step back and had to withdraw the baap-beti ad because of the severe protest of the bank union.
Lately, the executive director of the jewellery brand also apologized for his advert and conveyed that he did not want to hurt anyone’s sentiments. He accepted that the jewellery ad had hurt the sentiments of the esteemed bank community. He also said that the problem caused to the bank community was unintentional and he did not know that it would create a problem for anyone. The executive director stated that the ad was creative and just a fiction work and not a depiction of the banking employees and he also acknowledged the contribution of the banking sector to the country.
In the statement, the words of the executive director of the jewellery brand were,
“We sincerely regret the inadvertent hurt caused and withdraw the advertisement from all media with immediate effect. We understand that the advertisement has hurt the sentiments of some people including members of our esteemed banking community. Any such hurtful interpretation being drawn is unintended. We state that the creative advertisement was a work of fiction and not a reflection of banking employees at large. Along with crores of Indians, we acknowledge the valuable contribution of the banking community to our country.”
Talking more about the ad, Amitabh Bachchan is shown as a senior citizen who is honest and sincere and he visits the bank with his daughter to return the extra credited money on his pension and also during the process he argues a bit with the bank employees which highlights his encounter with them. This thing offended the esteemed bank community and Soumya Dutta, who is the AIBOC general secretary, said,
“The advertisement portrays banks in bad light, casting aspersion, hurting the sentiment of millions of personnel, stake holders and is a direct attempt to ruin the trust and confidence of billions of citizens in banks.”
This statement completely shows how disappointed the general secretary of the All India Bank Officers’ Confederation was which led to many difficulties for the Kalyan Jewellers. However, now the Kalyan Jewellers have withdrawn the ad and have also apologized to the banking community for showing their false image which had hurt the sentiments of many bank officers, employees and the whole banking community.
