10 Amitabh Bachchan Movies Which Prove That The Angry Young Is The Best

Amitabh Bachchan the “Shahenshah of Bollywood” has ruled Bollywood for like decades now, he has always entertained his fans, no other actor in the Bollywood could have played the role of Auro better than him in “Paa”, his Voice is something we all are  fan of what makes Kaun Banega Crorepati so entertaining he and his voice is the only answer , he is a great host. He gave us friendship goals by sacrificing his life for his best friend Veeru in Sholay. Here is a list of 10 Amitabh Bachchan movies which prove that the angry young is the best.

1- Sholay

Sholay was released in 1975 directed by Ramesh Sippy starring Amitabh Bachchan as Jai, Dharmendra Deol as Veeru, Hema Malini as Basanti, Jaya Bhaduri as Radha, Sanjeev Kumar as Thakur and Amjad Khan as Gabbar.  Jai and Veeru were the highlights of this movie, they both have us friendship goals, Jai sacrificed his life in the end to save the life of Veeru.  The Song “Yeh Dosti”  in the movie defines their friendship completely. The acting of all the actors in the movie as appreciated and the dialogues like “Yeh Hath Mujhe De De Thakur ” became extremely famous.

2- Deewar

Deewar was released in 1975 directed by Yash Chopra, starring Amitabh Bachchan, Shashi Kapoor, Nirupa Roy, Parveen Babi and Neetu Singh.  Amitabh played the role of Vijay his character was inspired by the gangster living in Bombay Haji Mastan. This movie revolves around a story where two brothers, after being betrayed by their father were living in slum areas of Bombay with their mother. The title of the story Deewar was appropriate as there was a wall that was built between the two brothers leading completely different lives from each, drawn apart due to fate and bad circumstances.   This movie had several remakes in many languages.

3- Agneepath

Agneepath was released in 1990, directed by Mukul Anand starring Amitabh Bachchan, Mithun Chakraborty, Madhavi, Neelam Kothari, Rohini Hattangadi and Danny Denzongpa who played the role of Vilan in the movie. Vijay wanted to take the revenge of his father brutal mother from Danny (Kancha),  the title of the movie is from Amitabh Father’s Harivansh Rai Bachchan poem “Agneepath “.  Amitabh Bachchan won his first national award.

4- Paa

Paa was released in 2009 directed by R. Balakrishnan, starring Amitabh Bachchan, Abhishek Bachchan, and Vidya Balan. This movie was a classic example to show a beautiful relationship between father and son.  Amitabh Bachchan played the role of Auro Abhishek’s son who was suffering from a serious disease Progeria, initially, Amol(Abhishek ) refused to accept Auro but later that he started loving him and shared a beautiful bond with him. Amitabh did a lot of hard work for his role, his make up was the main thing his make up used to take like hours and hours and was done by makeup artists from America.

5- Laawaris

Laawaris was released in 1981 directed by Prakash Mehra starring Amitabh Bachchan, a man who was abandoned as a child and was living a life of an orphan and his biological father used to care of his needs however he had no idea about that. The film became hit due to two reasons Amitabh’s acting and the film’s songs like “Mere Angne Mein”. It was one of the highest grossing films of that year.

6- Piku

Piku was released in 2015 a comedy-drama film directed by Shoojit Sircar starring Amitabh Bachchan, Deepika Padukone, and Irrfan Khan.  Piku Banerjee used to live with his father Bhasokor(Amitabh) her father had some constipation problems she used to take care of him all the time but used to get irritated sometimes they both, however, were really close to each other. Both the actors won National Film Awards for their great performances in the movie.

7- Pink

Pink was released in 2016 directed by Aniruddha Roy Chowdhry starring Amitabh Bachchan, Tapsee Pannu, Kirti Kulhari, Andrea Tariang, Angad Bedi, Piyush Mishra and Dhritiman Chatterjee. This movie was all about girl power, where there were three girls Minal , Falak and Andrea used to live together in an apartment as independent girls and one day Minal was molested by Ranjeet (Angad Bedi) she hit him by a bottle as self-defense, his uncle was a strong politician and the case was filed against the girls and they were blamed for the whole incidence however Amitabh played the role of a lawyer(Deepak) and fought case for girls and made them win. The acting of the actors in the film was on point and this movie did great at the box office and bagged National Film Award for the best film based on social issues.

8- Black

Black was released in 2005 directed by Sanjay Leela Bhansali starring Rani Mukherjee and Amitabh Bachchan were there in the lead roles. Rani Mukherjee played the role of a deaf and blind girl,  she used to share a great bond with her teacher who was the only person who used to understand her however he also developed a disease later.  Amitabh won his fourth National Film Award for his great performance and this film became one of the highest grossing films of that year.

9- Sharaabi

Shaaraabi was released in 1984  directed by Prakash Mehra starring Amitabh Bachchan, Jaya Prada, Pran and Om Prakash. Amitabh played the role of an alcoholic and set a benchmark by his acting he was a son of a rich man in the film, however, his father left him because of his drinking habits and was raised by Munshi. Shaaraabi is one of the great performances done by Amitabh this movie did great at the Box office.

10- Satte Pe Satta

Satte pe Satta was released in 1982 starring Amitabh Bachchan, Hema Malini, Amjad Khan, Ranjeeta Kaur, Sachin, Shakti Kapoor, Paintal, Sudhir, Inderjeet, Sarika, Kanwaljit Singh, Prema Narayan, Mac Mohan and Kalpana Iyer. Amitabh played the role of the eldest brother who used to take care of his brothers they all were orphan and were living like unsophisticated humans , and then Amitabh Bachchan fell in love with a nurse (Hema) she used to love cleanliness so he lied about his brothers and told her he has only one brother after marriage she came to know about the other brothers and took the charge to make them sophisticated humans. This movie is an adaption of a musical Amercian film called “seven brides for seven brothers.
