Where we see celebrities talking about lack of opportunities to play versatile roles on screen, we see, Amitabh Bachchan, at 70, picking up characters which are fairly distinct from each other. And all this started with Piku where he played a Bengali father to Deepika Padukone. And since then he has been playing super interesting characters with 102 Not Out, Pink, Thugs of Hindostan and now, his next with Emraan Hashmi, Chehre too has got him a look which you too wouldn’t be able to recognize.
The movie has been produced by Anand Pandit and will be directed by Rumi Jafry. Taran Adarsh recently announced the film going on floors and tweeted:

He also took to twitter to unveil the first look of Amitabh Bachchan from the movie which has him looking like an old detective from the 80s. Here, have a look:
Amitabh Bachchan too shared another of his enthralling still from the sets. He posted:
T 3161 – Another meter down.. started new film with Rumi Jafry.. “CHEHRE” .. a long standing commitment, now fructifying..
The movie’s director Rumi Jafry commented on the upcoming project by saying,
“A film is a collaborative effort and when you have one of the best actors in front of the camera and a veteran producer behind the lens supporting you and leading all creative efforts, then making the film is a fantastic experience.”
The film also stars Emraan Hashmi who will be sharing the screen space with Big B for the first time. Producer, Anand Pandit talked about casting the two of them for this mystery thriller and stated,
“My friendship with Mr. Bachchan goes back a long way. I have not met any other actor who matches his skill and commitment. It is an honour to be a part of creating a film with him and I have always admired Emraan’s body of work. So I am looking forward to seeing him onscreen with the legend for the first time.”
In a conversation with Mumbai Mirror, he also revealed the premise of the film. He said,
“It is a mystery-thriller that revolves around a group of friends, some of whom are retired lawyers. They meet at a bungalow in Shimla and play a psychological game. It’s an intriguing story with Bachchan saab as one of the lawyers, while Emraan plays a business tycoon. This is the first time that the two actors are working together. We are constructing a huge set of the bungalow at a Malad studio.”
He further added,
“Rumi has given the final touches to the script that has been penned by a group of writers. We will begin the reading sessions from Tuesday while he has already begun prep. We will wrap up the Mumbai schedule on June 12.”
Chehre will also star Annu Kapoor, Rhea Chakraborty, and Kriti Kharbanda in prominent roles. The movie is scheduled to release on Fenruary 21, 2020.
