Alia Bhatt and Varun Dhawan are the new fan favorites and they make the screen fire up with their amazing chemistry on screen. Up until now, they have featured in four movies together, co-incidentally all produced under Karan Johar’s production banner Dharma Productions. They both started their career in Bollywood with Student of the Year and then went on to work in Humpty Sharma Ki Dulhaniya and Badrinath Ki Dulhaniya, both directed by Shashank Khaitan. And now, they have come up with their period drama magnum opus Kalank on the big screen.
They are lovingly called as Varia by their fans and their looks as Roop and Zafar from Kalank also collected huge accolades from fans and viewers. During the promotions of this film, Alia Bhatt, Varun Dhawan, Sonakshi Sinha, and Aditya Roy Kapur were giving a fun interview. And that’s when Alia Bhatt made a little blunder and addressed Varun Dhawan as Ranbir Kapoor. Varun, sitting beside Alia, was playing with her bun hairdo, and Alia asked him to stop. But just that she referred to the man as her boyfriend Ranbir Kapoor. She said,
“Ran…! Uh, Varun don’t.”
Quickly realizing her mistake, she then made a facepalm gesture and everyone on the couch broke into cheeky laughter.
Here’s the video, have a look:
Alia, also recently revealed that every time she completes shooting with Varun Dhawan, she experiences separation anxiety, such is their relationship. But she doesn’t like to take credit for her and his chemistry and puts it on brilliant writing and storytelling of the films they’ve been a part of. She said,
“I don’t think Varun and I can take much credit when it comes to reinventing our pairing on screen. Honestly, it is in the writing and the director’s vision that comes to us and we just execute it. We execute it with a lot of passion and zest because both of us want to bring something new and give a different face to each other.”
Varun Dhawan on the same differed a bit with her as he believes it is their connect which makes their performance better and was quoted as saying,
“It is just that I connect with her, which evokes reaction, and I guess this is what translates on-screen. When we are performing, even if it is a smallest thing she does, I notice that and there is reaction to it. Half of acting is listening and mostly we don’t do that as actors. But with her, I am definitely listening and understanding what she is trying to do.”
Both Alia and Varun are super competitive, even with each other yet care for each other the most. Their latest release Kalank opened to theatres yesterday. On the other hand, Alia and Ranbir shared a cute little moment at this year’s Zee Cine Awards making their fans gush over it. Talking about her relationship with the Jr. Kapoor, she said,
“It’s not a relationship. It’s a friendship. I’m saying this with all genuineness and honesty. It’s beautiful. I’m walking on stars and clouds right now. The best part is that we’re two individuals, who are living our own professional lives in its full form right now.”
Both of them will appear together for the first time on the big screen in Ayan Mukerji’s Brahmastra on Christmas this year.
