It was the MAMI festival, where Alia Bhatt shared with us her working experience with dad & filmmaker Mahesh Bhatt in ‘Sadak 2’.
Alia Bhatt is currently shooting for her upcoming flick, Sadak 2 which is being helmed by her father cum filmmaker Mahesh Bhatt. Sadak 2, marks Mahesh Bhatt’s return to film direction after a long 2 decades. It is the sequel to 1991 film by the filmmaker that starred Sanjay Dutt & Pooja Bhatt as the lead couple. Both these are joined by Alia & Aditya Roy Kapur this time and the shoot is in progress for a long time.
During her F2F with Karan Johar at Jio MAMI Movie Mela with Star, when Alia was questioned about Sadak 2, she narrated a short story,
“I was doing an emotional scene and I didn’t plan to cry but I just started crying. He started crying while I was and I felt him cry and I broke out of the moment for a second and was like ‘That’s my Dad crying, I can’t see him cry’ and I started crying even more.”
When Alia was asked that how different is Mahesh Bhatt as a director and father, she said,
“I am still confused and I think by the end of the film I will realise what was our director-actor relationship. But he is an absolute delight to work with. It’s unbelievable how clear he is. His energy transcends all of us. He could be having high fever but he just doesn’t stop. He is so generous with actors. He doesn’t sit behind the monitor. He’s just behind the camera, near the actors.”
She completed her interaction by talking about Sadak 2 and words,
“This is that one film I don’t care about the outcome. The joy that I had to be connected with my father, to work with him, he’s like a newborn baby on set. It’s just amazing.”
