Alia Bhatt Gets Separation Anxiety After Completing Shooting With Varun Dhawan

In a surprise revelation, Alia Bhatt confessed that whenever she completes shooting for a project with Varun Dhawan, she experiences ‘separation anxiety’.

It is the bond and the level of comfort that they both share with each other in the real world that adds to the success of their crackling chemistry on screen. This duo made simultaneous on-screen debut in 2012 with ‘Student of the Year’ and was again cast as the onscreen couple in the following: ‘Humpty Sharma Ki Dulhania‘ and ‘Badrinath Ki Dulhania’. ‘Our off-screen connect creates magic on-screen,’ these were both Alia and Varun’s words when queried about their reel-life chemistry.

With audience all in appreciation of this young on-screen romance, all the above-mentioned flicks were box office hits. Talking to PTI: Varun said,

“It is just that I connect with her, which evokes reaction, and I guess this is what translates on-screen. When we are performing, even if it is a smallest thing she does, I notice that and there is reaction to it. Half of acting is listening and mostly we don’t do that as actors. But with her, I am definitely listening and understanding what she is trying to do.”

When it comes to Alia’s comments about all this, she gives all the credit for the success of this pair’s chemistry to the writers and directors they both have worked with.

“I don’t think Varun and I can take much credit when it comes to reinventing our pairing on screen. Honestly, it is in the writing and the director’s vision that comes to us and we just execute it. We execute it with a lot of passion and zest because both of us want to bring something new and give a different face to each other.”

Meanwhile, when it comes to Alia’s latest project, she will be seen in Karan Johar’s Kalank, a love story that happens near partition days. It is here that she admitted to the “separation anxiety”. But getting over that, she is all happy that both the filmmakers as well as audience love their pairing and give them repeat chances each time without any hassle.
