The late actress Simple Kapadia’s son Karan Kapadia made his official debut in the film industry as an assistant director for Tony D’souza’s film ‘Boss’, headlined by Akshay Kumar. Now, Karan is all ready to share the screen with the Khiladi himself for a special number in his debut movie Blank, which is directed by Behzad Khambata. The film is an action thriller and revolves around the life of a suicide bomber, whose role is essayed by Karan Kapadia. Taran Adarsh took to Twitter to announce the making of this special song. Akshay and Karan are related through Twinkle Khanna – the actress turned author. Karan and Twinkle are first cousins. The brother-in-law duo shot for this super energy song on Monday, whose music is composed by Arko. When Akshay was asked about this, he told,
“Karan has chosen an unconventional route for his debut and I am extremely proud of him. Doing this song is my way of wishing him all the best.” the song is voiced by B Praak, who also lend his voice for Akshay’s recent historic-drama, ‘Kesari’.
Adding to his statement Akshay said he is impressed by Karan,
“The boy has genuine acting skills. I first saw the spark in a short film that he did (Crescendo, 2014) which even went to the Cannes Film Festival. With Blank, Karan has gone several notches up in terms of acting and performance.”
Earlier, in an interview with the Mumbai Mirror, Karan revealed how his actress-aunt Dimple Kapadia, with whom he lives and Twinkle Khanna initially reacted when he told them about his acting aspirations.
“They eventually understood that having grown up around their film sets as a child, it was inevitable that I’d want to follow in their footsteps. They pointed out the risks involved and told me that I should be ready to work hard. They have been supportive and helped me get ready for the road ahead.”
Karan went to Jeff Goldberg Studio for his acting classes and then he took training in horse-riding and a six-month course in martial arts, which was followed in Bangkok. His debut film ‘Blank’ is produced by Dr. Shrikant Bhasi, Nishant Pitti, Tony D’Souza, and Vishal Rani. The film also features Sunny Deol in a pivotal role.
