Emraan Hashmi and Aishwarya Rai:
Koffee With Karan, one of the most popular talk shows on TV, has always and continue to put people in trouble. The show is all gossip and fun, easy entertainment which enjoys a huge fan base around the country so much so that even celebrities admit to watching each and every episode of the almost 15-year-old show.
The on-going much hyped controversy popping in the headlines with new developments every now and then, right now is the Hardik Pandya and KL Rahul controversy where they are not just facing flak from the netizens and their fans but their fellow teammates and the cricket board as well for commoditization women and boasting about it.
Now, amidst all this huge debacle that has taken over, another Koffee With Karan’s controversial comment has come to the fore and it is the one where Emraan Hashmi in the fourth season called Aishwarya Rai Bachchan ‘Plastic’ during the rapid fire.
In an interview with Jitesh Pillai on Famously Filmfare, Aishwarya was asked about the ‘worst’ comment she’s heard about herself and she said, “Fake and Plastic”. It wasn’t Rocket Science to deduce that she was indirectly referencing to the Emraan Hashmi comment from a couple of years ago.
Emraan Hashmi is busy promoting his upcoming film, Why Cheat India and that’s when he was asked about the same. He said,
“But did she mention that it was my comment?”
He added by saying,
“She didn’t say that it’s my comment. She had just said that this comment is the worst.”
He further in his defence, justifying himself as to why he made such a comment back then said that he did not mean it and just said it in jest to win the hamper. He was quoted as saying,
“In the profile of the show, you have to be a bit controversial and funny. That is to win the hamper. I’m sure she is not speaking about me. But if she is, then I have said it in other interviews as well that I have an immense respect for her. I think she is a very good artist.”
Contrary to what he said on the controversial couch, here he was all praises for the actress and stated,
“When I was an assistant director, she is the only actress for whom I had waited for an hour outside the vanity van to catch a glimpse of her.”
All of this is now for Aishwarya to decide whether Emraan was just being funny and controversial on the couch or is he just being safe now. We know one thing that she has maintained her work-life balance like a boss and looks absolutely gorgeous even at the age of 45.
On the work front, Hashmi will be seen in Why Cheat India slated to hit the theatres this Friday, 18th January 2019. And Aishwarya Rai was supposed to work with her husband, Abhishek Bachchan in Gulab Jamun after almost 10 years next but reportedly, thy both have opted out of the film.
