Aishwarya Rai Bachchan is back to India after walking the Cannes 2019 red carpet with her daughter, Aaradhya Rai Bachchan. As soon as she stepped out of the Mumbai airport, paparazzi surrounded her and started shooting questions on her about Vivek Oberoi’s meme controversy. But undeterred and determined to maintain her calm she held Aaradhya’s hand and sported a smile and just got inside her car and took a ride back to Jalsa.
While Aishwarya chose not to react to this cheap publicity stunt of Vivek. But other celebs of the B-town were there to teach Vivek the decency to be followed in a relationship, be it from the past or present. Veteran Bollywood Actress Asha Parekh while speaking to Deccan Chronicle said,
“It’s very shameful. It’s as simple as that. He shouldn’t have done that. It’s absolutely not cool.”
Esha Gupta while attending the trailer launch of her upcoming movie: One Day said,
“It just shows your mentality, specially if you’re getting a minor involved. It’s not in good taste at all. It just shows how he is. It doesn’t reflect on what others are. It was shameful.”
Veteran Bollywood actress Renuka Shahane also slammed Vivek, she said,
“Vivek needs to learn that it is downright crass to involve Aishwarya’s daughter. Yes, people make all sorts of memes and they are humorous too. It’s good to laugh at oneself but if it involves other people, then it’s best not to endorse or retweet the meme. One can do that in one’s private friends’ circle but not publicly.”
Meanwhile, Vivek has issued a public apology and it remains to be seen in the coming future that this cheap publicity stunt of his for his upcoming movie, PM Narendra Modi, that was held for release as Model Code of Conduct was in effect, will work in his favor or backfire at him at the box-office.
But a lesson needs to be learned from this mistake for sure.
