Aditya Dhar and Vicky Kaushal Are All Set To Make Another Blockbuster Together After URI?

Aditya Dhar, a debut director who took the box office at the storm in the starting of the year, with his blockbuster film ‘URI: The Surgical Strike’. the film which was based on the URI attack that happened in 2016 featured Vicky Kaushal in the lead role with Yami Gautam in another pivotal role. The movie easily managed to collect more than INR 200 crore at the domestic level and also was successful to break several records. Now, after a super successful outing with Uri, the hit director and actor duo is planning to reunite for the second time.

Yes, you heard it right! According to the reports in Mumbai Mirror, Aditya Dhar’s next directorial project is a period-war film which is based on the mythological character of Ashwatthama. The film’s title is yet to decide but the lead actor has been confirmed by the makers. Vicky will mark the lead role in the film and the film will be produced by Ronnie Screwvala. While talking about this news, a source said, “After Uri, the makers wanted to return with something big and interesting. Aditya has been working on this script since a long time, even before Uri released, and when he sounded out Ronnie and Vicky, they immediately jumped on board. The film will be mounted on a big scale and will be shot later this year.”

Recently, when DNA After Hrs questioned Aditya about his next project, he said, “As of now, I’m consciously taking a break. But, there are a few concepts I have already worked upon. I’ll take a few more days and zero in on what I need to do.”

He further said, “The army is something I’m very close to. I find war stories, tales of valor and sacrifices fascinating and war films are something which I’ll always want to do as a genre. But, I don’t want my immediate next film to be one. I want to explore different genres. Maybe I’ll come back to it after a few projects because there are some amazing stories that nobody knows about.”

Moreover, this mythological film is likely to hit the theaters in the year 2020.
