Aamir Khan is the bonafide perfectionist of Bollywood who has delivered numerous hits over the years. He enjoys a huge fan following around the globe, so much so that fans from other countries have flown down to India just to see his movie upon release. One of the reasons for such a huge fandom is his choice of roles. He has always been a versatile actor, always experimenting with his looks and the roles and movies he chooses. Some fare well, some don’t and his recent magnum opus falls in the second category for it could not gather many favourable reviews from the audience. But one thing which no one denied was his near perfect acting in Thugs of Hindostan as Firangi. And that is what he is commendable at, bringing characters to live on-screen with so much dedication that he shines, no matter what!
What has released is now over. Aamir Khan is now looking forward to working in his new project which reportedly is a Bollywood remake of a classic movie Forrest Gump starring Tom Hanks, Robert Wright and Gary Sinise which released back in 1994. The movie is based on a novel of the same name written by Winston Groom. A source revealed,
“He is interested in remaking a Hollywood movie, which was produced by Paramount Pictures. Aamir never spills the beans about his projects till all the details are chalked out. No wonder, he is keeping the name of this film under wraps. It will be revealed only when everything is finalised as talks are currently underway to acquire the rights,”
Now, it has been reported that Aamir Khan has bought the rights of the film. The source further added,
“Aamir wants to make Forrest Gump in Hindi, which he will star in. He wants to play the lead role that Tom Hanks had essayed in the original.”
Aamir Khan would be best suited in the role of Tom Hanks. The team now is known to be making modifications in the script for it to work in front of the Indian audiences. Apparently, there are talks of the director, Advait Chandan being roped in to direct the movie. Nothing has been confirmed yet but there are high chances that the Aamir Khan and Advait Chandan will reunite after working in Secret Superstar together. The movie won huge accoloades from the audiences and critics alike for both the direction and the performances of the lead actors.
Aamir Khan had Mahabharata series and Mogul, Gulshan Kumar’s biopic in the pipeline but they may have been put on a halt for now as Forrest Gump’s Hindi Remake is on his and his team’s priority list now.
The IMDB synopsis of the 1994 Forrest Gump which won Academy Awards for Best Picture, Best Director, Best Actor for Hanks, Best Adapted Screenplay, Best Visual Effects, and Best Film Editing and bagged many other awards and nominations like Golden Globes, People’s Choice Awards, and Young Artist Awards reads:
“Forrest Gump is a simple man with a low I.Q. but good intentions. He is running through childhood with his best and only friend Jenny. From wearing braces on his legs, to having a below average IQ and even being shot, Gump continues to believe that good things will happen and goes after his dreams.”
