Indian Mainstream Cinema has never depicted real life stories of Transgenders and maybe they were scared enough to show this type of reality to Indian Society who is still very typical and orthodox. But, Sacred Games has shown how transgenders are depicted as “lucky Charm” in our society but still they aren’t respected for being what they are. This is the first time that in our cinema that the role of transgender is depicted purely natural with no exaggeration.
3. The central characters are not shown immortal
Unlike Indian Cinema where central characters hardly die, and they are seen immortal, this isn’t the case with Sacred Games. The first show ends with the death of Ganesh Gaitonde’s (Nawazuddin Siddiqui). Anjali Mathur (Radhika Apte) also dies.

The series is quite a politically correct story as the episodes are shown in a way that how Indian History relates to the Politics. Be it when the 1977 Emergency was declared and or be the Shah Banu case that how it was made a political matter despite dealing with that. Remarks on Rajiv Gandhi or other political leaders and matters are interesting and that’s why it is a must to watch series.
5. Communal Politics, Communalism over Democracy
Break-down of Babri Masjid, hatred between 2 religious ideologies that led to chaos and how Political Parties benefitted it from that. The series refers to different times when and how Communalism leads to chaos causing huge loss.
6. Use of Drugs by Bollywood celebrities
Usage of Drugs has always been a burning issue for Bollywood and most of the times Censor Board acts as a catalyst. Celebs has always been shied in showing the Drugs Scene in their movies but not this is not in the case with “Sacred Games”. Here, it is Karan Wahi who is shown as a spoilt star kid snorting drugs and doing parties.
